PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY October 12 2026 to October 18 2026 Monday October 12 In 1216, King John lost a fortune (including the Crown Jewels!) when his wagons were crossing tidal marshes. The procession was caught by unexpectedly fast-rising water which, according to some historians and astronomers, was caused by the New Moon's effect on the tide. Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time! Fortunately, as the Moon begins to wax, the symbolism is much more encouraging. Energy is building. Ideas can develop. Plans can gather momentum. Tuesday October 13 Happy Birthday Paul Simon! His songs have been part of our cultural soundtrack for decades. Great songs have an extraordinary ability to change with us; lyrics we've heard hundreds of times acquire new meaning because our circumstances change. The same is true of familiar situations. We think we know what's going on - then a shift in perspective reveals something we hadn't noticed. If you listen carefully today, you might hear something that changes the entire tune.
