Listen and Learn
Mercury (ideas) and lucky Jupiter are in mutual reception: each planet is in the other's sign. Today, as they move opposite one another, they encourage us to express opinions with confidence, whilst remaining open to hearing other people's views. No matter how big and bold our ideas, we can't expect to grow wiser if we don't learn from what others have to say. Which doesn't mean we have to agree with them of course! Strong debates ensure that the actions we take will lead to positive results.

Tuesday November 19
International Men's Day
It's International Men's Day. Often, with good reason, we focus on the trickier aspects of masculinity. But it's important to recognise the positive qualities too. As the Sun and sensitive Neptune harmonise, it's an opportunity to acknowledge the qualities everyone (no matter their gender) can offer. There's dignity in difference, and it deserves to be celebrated. It's by appreciating the best in people, even those who are unlike us, that we can make the world a more harmonious and peaceful place.

Wednesday November 20
Joe Biden
As Joe Biden turns 82 today, despite his disappointment at having had to step back from the presidency, maybe part of him is relieved that his long, illustrious political career is winding down. Personally, I find it exhausting trying to keep up with my own to-do list; and I'm 40+ years younger - and under considerably less pressure! As Venus (love) and sparky Uranus align, there's work to be done before we can put our feet up. But changes of circumstances can be surprisingly pleasing.

Perfect Timing
What perfect timing! On World Philosophy Day, the Sun enters truth-seeking Sagittarius and links with transformative Pluto. Excitement will grow as we start exploring new opportunities and searching new territory to find inspiration. We can courageously set new targets and look beyond our usual horizons. This shift in perspective enables us to explore opportunities we might otherwise let pass by. To take advantage of this celestial invitation we need to be prepared to let go of tired dreams. And create new ones.

Pushing the Envelope
There's a story about a comedian who argued with TV lawyers about scenes he knew would never be broadcast. By pushing hard for this material (before conceding with good grace), his other sketches (the ones he really cared about), would sail past the censors. As Venus (creativity) and responsible Saturn align, we can be polite: but we can't be walked over. And the weekend's Venus/Neptune link suggests that by choosing to sacrifice lesser concerns, we can gain more of what we really want.

Your Weekly Horoscope
This week, as Mercury turns retrograde, prepare for IT issues, problems with phone signals, and parcels lost in the post. But despite the challenges, there are hidden advantages. An enforced retreat from high-speed habits enables us to reassess and make choices to slow our lifestyles (and our minds) down. Aided by resilient Saturn's link to innovative Uranus, it's by stripping back to the essentials that we'll see how to make progress. The solution might be to do less, not more.
